The tamariki have been learning a new dance called Jibidi for the last week. It requires some coordination and control of our bodies...which can be quite challenging and a bit of a giggle for children and staff. Remembering to choose our friends for turns after managing this feat is an accomplishment!!! Stepping out in front of a group trying something new is a real confidence tester and our children are building these skills in a supportive and very encouraging environment. Ka pai to mahi tamariki - Good work children.

would av liked too av seen more interaction with all the children avn a turn in this dance excercise, but all in all its a good barrier breaker for our kids to accomplish and learn in stepping out of there own comfort zone .
ReplyDeleteThis is a new dance that all the children enjoy. We are still learning the actions which requires a great deal of co-ordination. Almost all of our children take part in this action song, we have to play it several times so that all the children can have a turn in the middle, however we do have some children that are still developing their confidence with this dance and they prefer to watch on rather than be choosen for the middle, they are still interacting with the group dance experinece but to a level they are more comfortable with.
ReplyDeleteWe will continue to document the children's enjoyment with this dance as their skill's with the actions develop.
watch this space!
